As a group we then went and thought about the conventions of the indie pop genre. We decided a mind map was the best way to document our ideas, as we had all done analyses of music video’s it was clear to see what techniques were conventional. Some of the most common conventions are; the suppleness of the settings and mise en scene, close ups are very common and you would also frequently see some performance.

After discussing the conventions there were a few which stood out to us as it was something we could try; eg. Tilts and slides sounded like a challenge but would look really cool if we chose to do a performance/narrative hybrid. We also decided there would be a couple of conventions that we would challenge for example we like the idea of the performance being done on a big, light up stage rather than a low budget/urban setting.
