After doing our prelim task and choosing the song ‘Hey Ya’ we decided that although we did like the old school pop genre we wanted to try something new and different. Personally I really like the indie pop genre as I like the difference between every song but also the small similarities. I’ve chosen to analyse pop indie songs and indie rock songs, the genre conventions do cross over therefore I want to research both genres and see which one is my preference.
