Gaining permission to use the song

After deciding to try and contact the Mike Mains to see if we could gain permission to make a music video to there song. We looked through the internet to try and find contact information for the group and eventually we found there email address. As a group we wrote out the email and sent it on Danielle’s gmail account. Below is the email we sent them and the response we got back from them.

It was great that we got a reply back from them so quickly and although they said it was fine we came up with a problem. As you can see they wanted too see it prior to posting for them to approve it; this left us in the predicament of what happened if they didn't like it and 6 months of work went down the drain. We talked as a group for a long long time about what to do but we couldn't come to a conclusion. We decided to email them back explaining the predicament we were in and to also try and make the situation a bit clear.

We got an email back very promptly again but still not with a definite answer; we decided the best thing for us to do was email or second choice to see if we could get there full permission.

As you can see from the email above; the response from Seafret was much more clear and definitely more allowing for us to have creative rain on the track, unlike Mike Mains. We then hit another problem in the terms that we had liked the stereo song a lot !!! and so did out target audience. Me and Tom were still very much towards the idea of using stereo and risking it, while Jamie and Danielle were more towards Atlantis. On my track research page there is a video of our discussion about choosing the song; in this video we pitched our idea to each other, with the conclusion that we were going to use the Seafret song. We then did a questionnaire about the Altantis which you can also see on the audience research page.
